68A Biomedical Equipment Technicians (BMETs)
DOD, LEVEL 2, and LEVEL 3
Under the dLETP contract, Innove worked with the U.S. Army Medical Department Center and School to develop over 160 hours of self-paced dL courseware for 68A Biomedical Equipment Technicians (BMETs). The purpose of the 68A Biomedical Equipment Technician course is to prepare Soldiers for their roles, duties, and responsibilities as a BMET. BMETs are primarily responsible for servicing and maintaining all medical equipment. The equipment they work on involves mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, digital, optical and radiological principals. This course includes topics such as basic electronics theory and computer and networking concepts, to medical terminology and biomedical and physics principles. It also includes the various equipment used in a medical facility, including diagnostic, therapeutic, and X-ray equipment, as well as a wide range of devices used to support and maintain these systems. The course allows interaction with an environment where the learner can use the information and tools provided to efficiently and effectively understand the equipment. This, in turn, helps the BMET keep equipment working properly and also determine faulty equipment.
