Training new employees can be a risky investment for an organization. All the time and energy it takes to introduce an employee to your process can be lost if they don’t work out. With this in mind, many leaders have worked hard to streamline their office’s new employee orientation process. With our expertise in learning and technology solutions, Innové is well positioned to help these public and private organizations enhance the quality of their training and orientation programs, while reducing the costs (and thereby risk) of these essential investments.
For example, not too long ago Innové was selected by Goodwill Industries to create an interactive web-based employee orientation course. They contacted us because there was a need to train each new employee in a way that would enable them to become an effective member of the team on their first day of work.
To meet this need, we designed an engaging, interactive web-based course that used a Goodwill-donated item (that cute sock monkey shown in the image on the left) as a mentor to guide the students through the course. New employees learned the information that was required for each part of the store, in a way that helped them retain the knowledge more easily, yet took far less time than Goodwill’s former employee orientation process. After the online training was developed, we then conducted extensive usability tests with members of the target audience to ensure the value and effectiveness of the material and the way in which it was presented.
We’ve had the pleasure of applying this knowledge to meet a range of employee training goals present at other types of public and private organizations as well. If you’d like to discuss how we can help you with your learning and development needs, please send us an email, or give us a call at 210.585.4920.
